6 Reasons I love Asbury Park. Number 7: No taffy.

I've wanted to visit Asbury Park for a long time. It has a beautiful beach, a real downtown, rich history, hip stores and restaurants, a GREAT bookstore, WoRds, and of course the music scene. We saw the band Stolen Rhodes who were fantastic. I felt like I was very far away, in California or Austin, Texas. Not the shore. Not the shore at all.

I am so in love with Asbury Park. I want to stay there for a summer. Has it survived the storm? Or, how does the jingle go, has it been stronger than the storm?

We sang the jingle all day. The boardwalk has been rebuilt, some buildings hit harder than others. Lots of new construction. The community is strong. We wanted to move there!

Asbury Park rocks. Saw Jefferson airplane do 2 shows at convention center (paramount) in 1971. Will see David Byrne in nearby red bank on friday. We go to Belmar every week. Sitting right next to ocean at this moment

I thought of you Lonny because I knew you had a house nearby in Belmar. It's a beautiful area. The southern Jersey shore is much different from the northern, that's for sure!
